He was born at Shiloh August 9, 1876, the son of Abe and Novia Emery. Mr. Emery lived all his life, except the past six years, at Shiloh. He and his wife Blanche moved to their home on Adams street six years ago. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary January 1. Surviving besides his wife are two brothers, Abe of Grand Rapids, and Frank of Kalkaska; two sisters, Sarah Parks of Belding, and Carrie Teed of Sheridan, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home. The Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding will officiate, and burial will be at Orleans cemetery. ---- Ionia Daily Sentinel, 12 Jun 1958 Funeral service for Ray Emery, 81, who died Sunday afternoon at his home, 257 Adams street, was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home. The Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding officiated, and interment was at Orleans cemetery. Pallbearers were Claude Decker, Milton Decker, Walter Decker, Leon Roomsburg, Vern Haynor and Ernie Allen. Friends and relatives from Belding, Grand Rapids, Sheridan, Kalkaska, Tecumseh, Saranac, Alma, Lake Odessa, Orleans and Ionia attended the service.
