Emery, 80, a former Belding grocery merchant, died Friday morning in Greenville United Memorial hospital after an illness of several years. From 1928 until 1945 Mr. Emery had operated a grocery store in Belding. He was a life member of the Belding Lodge 355, F&AM. He married to Viola Hammond who died several years ago. His second wife, Mary, survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Samuel Lukena, Worchester, Mass., and Mrs. Julian Vanderlip of Saginaw; two step-daughters, Mrs. Joan Jarvela and Mrs. Lawrence Heether, of Belding; and five grandchildren. Funeral services are to be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Fitzjohn funeral home. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at River Ridge cemetery.
