He was born on Sept. 23, 1932 in Lansing, the son of Charles A. and Annabel (Jensen) Emmons. Chuck lived his entire adult life in Ionia. He owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Ionia, belonged to the Sheridan V.F.W. and the Ionia Moose Lodge. Chuck served in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star and also served as an Honor Guard in Japan under Gen. Mark Clark. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for the outdoors, especially his land on the Flat River. Chuck took great pride in his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark S. Emmons. Survivors include his children and grandchildren, Mitchell L. (Marsha) Emmons and Heather of Holland, Matthew L. Emmons, Rick, Craig and Katherine of Greenville, Cindy (Didier) Maujean and Michelle of Eugene, Ore.; and many, many friends. Cremation has taken place.
