All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Ransom mlnransom@chartermi.net October 3, 2010, 11:21 pm The Belding Banner-News, Wednesday, February 23, 1921 Ray Emmons, one of the pioneers in this section, who was born on a farm three miles west of Cook’s Corners, passed from earth life from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maggie Urtel, near Mears, Oceana Co., Monday, February 21, following an illness of about three years, aged 65 years. In December 1878 he was married to Alice Tuttle, sister of Levi F. Tuttle and Mrs. Anna Moon, leaving three children to their father’s care: Arthur, of Lansing, and Margaret and Floyd, of Mears. He also leaves one grandson, Lewis Emmons, of Lansing. Mr. Emmons has been a resident of this city and vicinity nearly all his life and he was an honest and true neighbor and friend and was highly respected and esteemed by all who knew him. The remains arrived here yesterday for interment in the family burial lot in River Ridge cemetery. Funeral services will be held in the Miller & Harris undertaking parlors at two o’clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. Herbert Ellis.
