The Belding News, Thursday, April 8, 1909


The funeral of Mr. A. Emory was held at Shanty Plains church last Sunday 
conducted by Rev. Mrs. Chapman.  The church was crowded, and many were unable 
to get inside the building.  Mr. Emory had a strong desire to come back to his 
old home to die, and was brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Parks, of 
Fenwick, where he lingered for nearly two weeks.  He was an old resident of 
this place and highly respected here.  He was an old soldier. 

Mrs. Helen Rebothem of Grand Rapids was here to attend her father’s funeral.
