He has been in poor health for two years, but was up and about most of the time, and a critical condition was not looked for. Sunday morning he was up and dressed until noon when he began to feel sick. He went to bed and steadily grew worse. Drs. McCann and Barnes were called but he died at the above hour today. Consumption of the stomach is given as the ailment. Mr. Endres was 75 years of age Jan. 8, 1907 and came to Ionia about 1881 from North Door, Mich., and successfully operated the Ionia brewery. He for 12 years was a good citizen, prominent among the German societies of the city and until his physical infirmities began to take hold of him was active and energetic in business affairs. He was married in 1855 to Miss Anna Wolf, who died in 1879. He married again in 1880 to Miss Margaret Schlosser, who survives. There are four living children, Mrs. Frank Biehler, Ionia, Mrs. Robert Brose, Grand Rapids, Philip Endres Jr., and Johnnie Endres. Also, Mrs. Henry Krieger, adopted daughter by his first wife. The funeral will be held at 9 o’clock Thursday.
