Ionia County News, 24 Dec 1954

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 12 at St. Joseph’s church in
Belding for Jacob Engelbert who died December 9 at Greenville Hospital after a
lingering illness.  Born in Germany on February 8, 1871 Mr. Engelbert came to
Belding at the age of 10 and had been a resident of the Miriam and Belding area
for 83 years.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s church and Holy Name Society.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Rentsman, Greenville; one
step-daughter, Mrs. Celia Stevens, Muir and two step-sons, George and Ed Scheid
Belding.

Rev. C.E. Steves officiated at the service and interment was at St. Josephs
Cemetery in Belding.
