Ionia Sentinel Standard, 23 Jan 1939

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, January 23, at 2 o’clock at 
the Myers funeral home on East Main street for Marcus Engelman, 78, who died at 
his home in Grand Rapids Thursday evening, January 19, at 11:15 o’clock 
following an illness of over one year.  The Rev. C. A. Brady, pastor of the 
Ionia Church of Christ, officiated.  Interment was made in Highland Park 
cemetery in the mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Cyrene H. Lockwood, Henry F. Voelker, K.R. Smith; Charles J. 
Grooms, Fred T. Wortman and Alfred A. Nichol.

Chandler J. Haight, sr. sang several vocal solos, accompanied by Mrs. Chandler 
Haight, jr., at the organ.
