Emily was born on Oct. 3, 1923, in Wayland, the daughter of George and Anna Zbonak Pavlak. She had lived in Belding for many years and was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Emily was married on Aug. 9, 1958, in Belding to Herbert Engemann and he preceded her on Sept. 9, 1990. She also was preceded by her parents; brothers, twins Robert and Edward, Joseph, Emil; and her sisters; Ethel, Margaret and Mary. She is survived by her children, Carol and Jeff Mahlich of Orleans, Doug Engemann of Ellis, Idaho; three grandchildren, Selana, Stefan and Heather; and her sister, Wilma Bresnan of Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, with Father Fred Brucker presiding. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be one hour before Mass on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the local Humane Society. Care and service were entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
