Eugene England, age 83 of Ionia, passed away Dec. 19, 2013 in Grand Rapids.  He 
was born April 12, 1930, in Foraker, Ohio the son of William and Della 
(Shepard) England.  Eugene married Marilyn Gillett on Sept. 19, 1951, in Parma, 
Mich.  He was a member of Zion Methodist Church.

Eugene is survived by his children; William (Gayle) England of Oklahoma, Daniel 
England of Ionia, Cindy (Dwight) Higgins of Saranac, and 16 foster children; 
grandchildren, Arisa (Geoff) Petersen of Ionia, Paul (Stacy) Wilson of Otsego, 
Erik (Melissa) England of Ionia, Jerrad Higgins (Brenda Clover) of Saranac, 
Derek England of Portage, Rex (Nicole) England of Portage, Lori (Cody) Smith of 
Oklahoma, and Lisa Gosnell of Oklahoma; sister, Erlene (Robert) Keeler of 
Jackson, Mary Moore of Albion, Dorothy Thacker of Springport, and Sue (Cliff) 
Obbeg of Tecumseh.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn England; his 
parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at Zion United 
Methodist Church with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating.  Memorial contributions 
may be made in Eugene's name to the Ionia Commission on Aging or Zion United 
Methodist Church.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
