England, 70, of Ionia passed away July 14, 2003 at her home. She was born May 13, 1933 in Springport, the daughter of Burton F. and Della P. (Halley) Gillett. She would go on to marry Eugene England September 19, 1951 in Parma. She worked for many years as a teacher’s aide for the Belding School System before retiring in the mid 1980s. following that she went to work for the Ionia Commission on Aging. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Ionia. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Eugene of Ionia; sons, William and Gayle England of Oklahoma, and Daniel England of Ionia; one daughter, Lucinda Wilson of Ionia; 16 foster children; grandchildren Arisa Petersen, Paul Wilson, Eric England, Derek England, Rex England, Lori Smith, and Lisa Gosnell; and one great-grandson, Dustin. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Clarence, and two sisters, Lula and Ida. There will be a memorial service for Mrs. England Thursday, 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, 423 Washington St., Ionia, with Rev. Arlo D. Vandlen officiating.
