Died, at his home in Boston, May 20, after a painful illness of several months duration, Edson English, in the 82d year of his age. Mr. English was born September 12, 1801, in the town of Tunbridge, Vt., where he lived until the fall of 1840, when he removed with his family to Michigan and settled on the farm that he has since occupied, and where he has since been actively identified with the interests of his locality and Ionia county, being widely known as one of the most upright, useful and respected citizens. In early life he embraced the religion of Christ and became a member of the M.E. church. He retained this connection until the close of his long life, with the reputation of an earnest, consistent follower of Christ. He leaves his aged life companion, a large family circle and numerous friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services held at the M.E. church, in South Boston, on the 22d, at 2 o’clock.
