Daniel E. English, 54, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2002.  He was born on
Nov. 28, 1947 in Petoskey, the son of Hugh and Ethel (Seward) English and was a
resident of Lafayette, Ind. for 10 years, and also lived in Portland.  He
married Mary Janette Patterson in Lafayette and she survives.  Mr. English
graduated from Portland High School and was employed at TRW as a supervisor for
25 years in Portland, MI and later in Lafayette for the past 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.  Surviving are sons, Mark Daniel
(Alana) English of Redford, and John Joseph (Michelle) English of Cambridge,
England; daughter, Cheryl Ann (Ken) Stephenson of Portland; five grandchildren;
three step children, Dean Patterson of Washington, Adam Patterson of California
and Jessica Patterson of Georgia; brothers, Thomas English of Lansing, Michael
J. (Peggy) English and James (Lynda) English both of Charlotte; sisters, Julie
Ann English of Portland, and Lisa Jane (Grant) Murray of Huntsville, Ala.;
several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service was held May 4, 2002 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home,
Portland with Interment following at Portland Cemetery.  Contributions may be
made to the American Heart Association.
