The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, January 9, 1967
Mrs. Gladys C. English, 66 of route 2, Clarksville, died Sunday afternoon at 
Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids following three days of illness.  She was 
born in Lake county January 28, 1900 daughter of Nels and Bertha Johnson.  

Surviving are her father, Nels Johnson, three daughters, Mrs. Glen Brovant of 
Alto, Mrs. Dan Richmond and Mrs. Eloise Lobdell of Grand Rapids; two sons, 
Harold C. Jack of Poway, California, and Edmond English of Greenville; four 
brothers, 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Her husband Byron 
preceded her in death in 1948.

Funeral service swill be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Hayward funeral home in 
Casnovia.  Burial will be in Kent City cemetery and arrangements are being 
made by Pickens funeral chapel in Clarksville.

Funeral services were Wednesday for Mrs. Gladys C. English, 66, of route two 
Clarksville, in Casnovia.  Bearers were Randall Clark, George Vance, Dan 
Schroder and Clare Peckins.
