Came Home To Die
Rosa wife of George Enz, of Woodland township, died at the home of Mr.Enz's 
parents north of Woodland on Friday morning, April 24, o consumption. The 
funeral was held from the Evangelical church in northeast Woodland on Sunday 
forenoon at 11 o'clock, Rev. I.H.Mourer conducting the service. The remains were 
interred in Lakeside cemetery, being followed to their last resting place by the 
largest number of people that has visited the cemetery on a like occasion in 
years.

Mrs. Enz was the daughter of Mr and Mrs.D.F. Roberts, highly respected and well 
known citizens of North Woodland, She was born October 11, 1869, and was married 
to Mr.Enz October 24, 1895. She had always been in robust health until about 
three years ago, when she suffered a severe attack of the grip, which left her 
with a slight cough; this caused but little alarm until about a year ago, when a 
physician was consulted, he advising a change of climate. So, on March 18 of 
this year, Mr an Mrs Enz left for Las Vegas, New Mexico. At first Mrs. Enz felt 
better, but it was only for a day or two, then she was taken worse, a doctor was 
consulted, he advising them to go to Denver,Colorado, there to consult a 
specialist. They did as advised, the Denver physician plainly telling them that 
her case was hopeless, and the best thing to do would be to return home at once, 
which they did, arriving here on the 14th of April, being absent but a month. 
Mrs.Enz stood the journey well, but was fast weakening and her suffering came to 
an end but ten days after she had finished her long western trip.

Two children were born to Mr.and Mrs. Enz, both dying in infancy.
