Leora D. Erb, aged 88, of Saranac, passed away Sept. 20, 2008. She was born May 
28, 1920 in Easton Twp., Mich., the daughter of James and Marion Grummet. Leora 
married LaVern Erb Nov. 4, 1950 in Indiana who preceded her in death Aug 11, 
2000. She worked for J. C. Penny Co. in Ionia for many years and was a member 
of South Boston Bible Church.

Leora is survived by her children Edward Duane (Janet) Walter of Barryton, 
Rosalyn “Rose” (Richard) Wright of Saranac, Linda (Ron) Clouse of Saranac and 
Allan Erb of Ionia; one brother Donald (Shirley) Grummet of Saranac; sisters 
Thelma Rowley of Ionia, Lois Solomon of Ionia, Alice Courter of Saranac and 
Donna Battle of Saranac; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and nine 
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at South Boston Church with Rev. 
Ronald Tuinstra officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be 
Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone wishing may 
make memorial contributions to South Boston Church or Spectrum Hospice.
