                                IRA ERB

LAKE ODESSA-Ira Erb 84, of Kentwood formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday, 
August 21, at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Erb was born April 7, 1901, in Bowne township, the son of Austin and Louisa 
Wearver Erb. He attended Mill and Bowne center Schools.

Erb married Nora Stahl September 5, 1923. She preceded him in death November 17, 
1980.

He was a farmer and worked at general Motors, Fisher Body, Doreler Jarvis and 
Lake Odessa Machine Products. He retired in 1971.

Surviving are four sons and four daughters; LaVern Erb of Saranac;Keith of Lake 
Odessa; Robert of Fort Meyers, Fla.; Clare of Marion Ind. Mrs.Antonio Marcella 
Martinez of Kentwood; Mrs.Jack Vada Fosburg of Mason; Mrs.Charles Virginia 
Rayner of Lake Odessa; Ervin Joan Lockwood of Havard, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, 
Mary Erb of Waylon; one brother, Jay of Zepheyr Hills, Fla.; a sister, Iva 
Burman of Lake Odessa, 35 grandchildren 56 great-grandchildren and 17 great-
great-grandchildren.

One son, Gerald, one daughter, Marjorie, a grandson and a great-granddaughter 
preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m at the Clarksville Bible Church. 
Rev. Larry Pike will officiate.

Burial will be in the Bowne Mennonite Cemetery.

A memorial for the heart fund has been set up. Donation may be left at the 
funeral home.

Friends may meet the family Friday 2:00-4:00 p. and 7-8:30 .m at Koops Funeral 
Home in Clarksville.
