He left Ionia that morning at 7:30, on freight train No. 212, and at above hour, while switching in the yards at Lakeview, it is surmised that he must have slipped and fallen under the moving wheels of the cars. There were no eye witnesses to the accident, but he was found in a minute or two after the accident is supposed to have occurred, dead, his body cut in two just above the hips. Deceased was unmarried, and lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Erickson, just south of the watering pipe alongside the Pere Marquette main track at the car shops. Remains will be brought to the home here this evening. George Erickson was a young man of jovial temperament, and a good worker but had been running in hard luck of late. It was only a little more than a month ago that he had a foot mashed, and suffered the loss of a toe.
