Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 Mar 1977

Charles F. Erickson, 79, of 142 Adams street died late Monday evening at Ionia 
County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Ionia, September 
16, 1897, the son of Andrew and Anna Anderson Erickson and attended Ionia 
schools, graduating from Ionia high school.

He lived most of his life in the area and married the former Lulu Canavan 
December 31, 1943. She preceded him in death January 24, 1975.

He was employed by the Hayes Body shop, Pere Marquette car shop, the Michigan 
Reformatory at Ionia and Consumers Power company before retiring. Mr. Erickson 
was a member of the Palo Oddfellows and the Ionia Moose Lodge.

He is survived by several nieces.

Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Leddick funeral home with  Rev. Roger 
Gifford of First Christian Church officiating. Burial is in the Bowne Mennonite 
cemetery near Lowell. The family will receive friends and relatives at the 
funeral home Tuesday 2 to 4  p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
