Mowars was born near Dansfield, Ohio September 6, 1846 and died at the home of her son Chas. F. Ernsberger in Grand Rapids, Mich. Feb. 1, 1907. Aged 60 years, 4 months and 25 days. She married Christopher M. Ernsberger April 2, 1972. Ten years later they came to Michigan where she has since lived save four years spent in Missouri. To them were born nine children, three boys and six girls. Only last September Mrs. Ernsberger lost her husband. Two of their children preceded them on this long journey. She is the first of nine children to die. Seven children, four of whom live in Grand Rapids, one in Missouri and another here, nine grandchildren and three sisters and four brothers, all of Ohio survive the deceased. Mrs. Ernsberger was a very hard working woman, patient and long suffering. She was a very devoted mother. From childhood to the time she came to Michigan she was a member of the English Lutheran Church. On coming to Michigan she joined the United Brethren church because her church had no congregation in reach of her. For the same reason she joined the M.E. Church South on going to Missouri. In 1902 when she returned to Michigan she joined the M. E. church from where she goes to the church triumphant.
