Ionia County News, 12 Oct 1939

Mrs. Julia Ernst living with her son Cliff Rice of St. Johns, Michigan, died 
early Monday morning, October 2, 1939.  Julia Castle, daughter of Nelson and Mary 
Castle was born August 11, 1858, in Ionia County.  She spent a great deal of her 
life in that county.  Her survivors are her son, Cliff Rice, and two grandsons of 
St. Johns and one brother Herbert Castle of Ionia.  Last rites were held at the 
Burns funeral home in Hubbardston.  Interment in East Plains cemetery.
