Frank Esch, 81, of 204 Railroad, Muir, died Wednesday evening at Ionia County 
Memorial hospital following a short illness.
He was born December 29, 1888 in Westphalia, the son of Anthony and Anna Esch. 
He lived in Portland and Hubbardston areas before coming to Muir in 1942. He 
was Muir village maintenance worker and also sexton of Muir cemetery until his 
retirement in 1963.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Lehman of Dearborn; six sons, Chester, 
Elmer and Francis of Lansing, Roman of Ionia, Arthur of Fenwick and Leon of 
Grand Ledge; 33 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; two stepdaughters, 
Mrs. Margaret Casselman of Franklin, N. C., and Mrs. Patricia Moses of 
Portland; one stepson, Charles Quigley of Muir; brother, Nicholas Esch of 
Lansing.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic church at 
Pewamo and interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic cemetery at 
Hubbardston. 

Rosary will be Friday at 7:30 pm at Shaw-Rivett-Hull funeral home in Muir.
