Belding- Kristjan "Chris" William Mason Esman, 50, of Belding, passed away 
Sunday evening Sept. 29, 2013, at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus in Grand 
Rapids.

Kristjan was born on June 30, 1963, in Norway House, Manitoba, Canada, the son 
of Buddy and Yvonne (Taylor) Esman.

Chris graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1984. During high 
school, he played football and ran cross country. He enjoyed sports and 
collecting sports cards and sports memorabilia. Chris was proud of his Cree 
Indian heritage. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Chris is loved and survived by his sons, Wayne Esman and Dakota Esman; his 
parents; brothers and sisters, Henry, Howard, Brian (Jamie), Elaine, Norma and 
Rosemary.

Chris was preceded by his brother, Wayne.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Otisco Township Cemetery in 
Belding, with Native American spiritual leader Stacey Gibson officiating.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family or the B Foundation.

Funeral care has been entrusted with Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding.
