Ionia Daily Sentinel, 7 Mar 1958

Miss Elizabeth T. Essick, 76, died in Traverse City Thursday evening after a 
two years’ illness.  She was born in Ionia and was a graduate of Ionia high 
school.  Miss Essick taught private classes in art at her own studio on East 
Main street for many years.  She was a lifelong resident of Ionia.  She spent 
her summers at Walloon lake in Emmett county where she taught private classes 
in art.  Miss Essick was a member of the Episcopal church.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Hazel Seven of New York City, a niece, and a 
nephew, Dr. George Seven of Flint.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Boynton’s funeral home with 
the Rev. Fr. Roger J. Bunday officiating.  Interment is to be in the family lot 
in Oak Hill cemetery.
