Estep, 83, of rural Muir died Thursday, February 9. She was born in North Plains township, the daughter of James and Francis Ludwick Dick. Mrs. Estep lived her entire life in Ionia County where she attended Muir high school and was a graduate of SS Peter and Paul Academy of music of Ionia in 1917. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Muir and belonged to the Women’s organization; Past Matron and a 50-year life member of Evergreen Chapter No. 334, OES, of Lyons. In June 1971 she married Coral Estep, son of Dr. and Mrs. R. L. Estep of Muir. He preceded her in death August of 1956. She and her husband ran the Muir post office for 25 years retiring in 1956. Survivors include one son, Cecil Estep and wife Barbara of Muir; three grandchildren; one brother, Howard Dick of Muir; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Estep funeral home, Muir. Rev. Norman Mincemoyer will officiate. Burial will be in Muir cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be this evening (Monday). A memorial fund has been established for the North Plains church and contributions may be left at the funeral home. Additional Comments: Transcriber’s Note: The marriage date of 1971 and death date of her husband in 1956 are correct as stated in the printed obituary, although clearly there was an error in one.
