Evans, 87, for many years a resident of Sebewa Corners, died there Friday night from ailments incident to old age. Funeral services were held at the Sebewa I. O. O. F. hall Monday, in charge of Rev. J. H. Stewart. Burial was made in the Sebewa cemetery. Mr. Evans was born in Canandaiqua county, N. Y., and came to this vicinity when a young man where he was married to Emma Friend, who died about 18 years ago. Two children were born from this union, both dying while in childhood. He is survived by two half-brothers, Irving Evans, of Sunfield, and Earl Evans, of Kansas City, Kas. Mr. Evans was a member of the Sebewa I. O. O. F. lodge and a veteran of the Civil war. Among those from away to attend the funeral were Miss Fern Conkrite and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Porter, of Portland; Mrs. Mae Stevens, of Woodbury; Mr. and Mrs. John Morrisey, Irving Evans and Mrs. Mae Ralston, of Sunfield.
