Belding Banner, 11 Mar 1897

Mrs. Edith Evans died Tuesday night of peritonitis.  She had but recently 
recovered from an attack of measles and being ambitious began doing work which 
prostrated her.  She was down town last Friday and since then was confined to her 
bed.  Mrs. Evans was about 48 years old and leaves a family of nine children also 
a husband with whom she has not lived for a couple of years.  She was a hard 
working, energetic woman and it is a sad blow to the children for whom she has 
lived and made a home.
