Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 May 1922

Portland, May 15 – Mrs. Susie Evans, a resident of Sebewa township since 1872, 
passed away Saturday after a long illness.  Mrs. Evans was born in York County, 
Pennsylvania, September 8, 1838.  She was married to Jacob Evans in 1867 and 
they came to Michigan in 1872 settling in the township where she died.  She is 
survived by four sons and a daughter, John Evans, of Owosso, Bert Evans, of 
Sebewa, George Evans, of Danby township, Joseph Evans and Miss Carrie Evans who 
made their home with their mother.  The funeral will be held from the residence 
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial will take place in the Sebewa 
cemetery.
