Daily Sentinel - Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1916

Mrs. F. O. Evans passed away this morning at 10:00 o'clock at her home at 127 
Summit street. The funeral service will be held in St. John's Episcopal church 
at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The members of the Ladies' Aid society, of which Mrs. 
Evans was a member, are asked to be present with others at that time. Mrs. 
Evans was 36 years old and had lived for only five years in this country, 
coming here from England. For the past three years, Mr. and Mrs. Evans have 
lived in this city, where they have formed many friends, especially in the 
parish of St. John's church. Mrs. Evans has never recovered from an operation 
for cancer which was performed about two months ago. There are no relatives 
either in this country or in the home country. Mr. Evans is employed at the 
Hayes-Ionia factory.

The men of the Baptist Brother-hood met on Tuesday evening for the annual 
meeting, at which a sumptuous oyster supper was served before the election of 
officers. A pleasant hour was spent in social converse, and music also added to 
the pleasure of the evening.
