Townsend, born Feb. 19, 1841 in Jefferson county, N. Y.; married Oct. 31, 1859, to Joseph L. Brink, who died at Camp Nelson, Kentucky, Jan. 8, 1864. She was again married to Samuel E. Evans, May 20, 1866. They came to Hubbardston in October, 1892. On the sixth day of Last March, Mrs. Evans fell and sustained an injury to the spine that caused paralysis from which she died, April 15. Her husband and one son, E. E. Brink, of Boyne City, and two daughters, Mrs. A. L. Arnold, of Chicago, are left to mourn her loss. The funeral was held Tuesday from the M. E. church, under the ritualistic form of the W. R. C. of which she was a member. Rev. N. M. Barnes officiating. Interment in east side cemetery.
