Portland Review – Tuesday, 28 January 1919
Mrs. Burt Evans who will be remembered as Miss Christiana Wilson by her school 
friends, died at her home west of Weippert’s corners.  In Sebewa, Thursday 
night, having been ill but a few days with influenza.  At the time of her 
death all the other members of the family, except her mother, who was caring 
for them, were ill with the same disease.  They are the husband, and three 
children – Herbert 14, Mildred 12 and Eston three years old.  The remains were 
taken to Lake Odessa Friday afternoon and placed in the vault funeral services 
to be held later.  Mrs. Evans was a bright pupil and graduated from Portland 
schools a few years before her marriage, which took place 16 years ago last 
Christmas.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur P. Wilson and sister 
of Victor Wilson of Sebewa.  She was born in Canada 38 years ago and was a 
cousin of Norman Hackett, the famous actor.  Victor Wilson, wife and son are 
also ill with influenza but are recovering.
