The Ionia Sentinel, Thursday, January 25, 1912
The funeral for Richard Evans was held this morning from the church of SS. 
Peter & Paul at nine o’clock, the remains arriving here from Detroit last 
night.  Mr. Evans was an uncle of Mrs. W. G. Longe, and was for many years a 
resident of Muir.  He has been in Detroit since last fall where he was scaling 
lumber for the Hayes Automobile company.  He was 62 years of age and leaves a 
widow.  He was stricken with apoplexy the day before his death and failed to 
rally.  The pallbearers were James Scully, T. A. Carten, Anthony Scully, 
Thomas McGannon, Joseph Poole and Frank Wirtz.
