She was born on June 12, 1911 in St. Louis, the daughter of Wellington and Bertha Fenner Switzer. Mary had worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing and later retired from Carson City Hospital in 1974. In 1996 she relocated to Springfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Clifford O. Markham, and Lloyd Evans; her children and step-children; William Fenner Markham, Mary Joanna Markham, Howard Markham, Clifford Markham Jr., and Eva Shunk. Mary is survived by her children, Sarah Ellen Moore of Springfield, Mo., Rosemary Sue Markham of Alma, Charles Verschage of Alma; and her step- children, Hattie Grinder of Virginia Beach, Va., Wayne Markham of Crossville, Tenn., and Maynard Markham of Lake City. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastors David Markham, Timothy Markham, William Markham and Woodvall Moore officiating Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in East Plains Cemetery, Matherton. Memorial contributions may be given to the General Scholarship Fund of Evangel University, Springfield, Mo.
