Lake Odessa Wave, 14 Nov 1968

Mrs. Bernice B. Everett, 65, of St. Clair Shores, passed away Friday afternoon 
at the Cottage Hospital, Grosse Pointe Farms, a few minutes after admittance.

She was born in Lake Odessa, June 10, 1903, the daughter of George and Laura 
(Robbins) Barkdull.  She was a 1922 graduate of the Lake Odessa high school and 
attended Kalamazoo State Teachers College and then taught in the local schools 
for several years.  Mrs. Everett was a clerk and later store manager in the 
Detroit and Pontiac areas for a number of years retiring several years ago.

Surviving are three sons, Spencer (Bill) of St. Clair Shores, Glen of 
Hollywood, Fla., and E. Roger of Warren; nine grandchildren and a brother, Owen 
(Pete) Barkdull of Hollywood, Fla.  Her husband, Nelson, passed away July 9, 
1958 while they were residing in Detroit.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, Lake 
Odessa.  Rev. Marvin Zimmerman officiated with burial in the Lakeside cemetery.
