Mrs. Eyster was the youngest of the six children of David and Leonora Irish, who came to Ionia in 1836, and who occupied for so long the old home on East Main street where Mrs. Eyster passed away. She married Charles C. Eyster of Virginia in 1885, and for a few years lived in Arizona, where he was in business. Eventually they returned to the old home, where she has lived ever since. She leaves to survive her, besides her husband, two sisters, Miss Laura Irish and Mrs. Lucius F. Mills of this city, and a brother Ed. L. Irish of Petoskey. Mrs. Eyster was a woman of retiring nature, whose sweetness of disposition and brightness of mind was appreciated by only a few of her old and dear friends. She was a musician of unusual ability, having taught the piano for some time, and also officiated as organist in the Presbyterian and Episcopal churches at different periods. Mrs. Eyster was born at Lyons, Ionia County, the daughter of David and Leonora (Lyon) Irish, natives of Vermont and early settlers of this county, who had come here in 1836. The town of Lyons was named for Truman Lyon, who was also prominent in the early affairs of Grand Rapids. David Irish was in the clothing business in Ionia at an early day, and was also for some years postmaster of the town and the proprietor of the old Eagle hotel. Both he and his wife lived to advanced ages. They were the parents of six children: Emily, Delia, Laura, Henry, Edward and Nellie. The funeral service will be held at the late home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. M. L. Marshall will officiate, and the interment will be in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends are requested to please omit flowers. ------ The funeral for Mrs. C. C. Eyster took place on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, at the home at 222 East Main Street. The Rev. M. L.
