Mrs. Faber had got up feeling in her usual good health, and although her 80 years were telling on her, still she was able to do her own work and had not felt bad or complained any. She had prepared her breakfast and had asked her son, Joe, what he would like for his breakfast. He told her that he did not care for anything and had laid down on his bed for several minutes when he heard his mother fall. He rushed out to where she was laying and tried to help her to her feet and she asked him to please leave her where she was. Mr. Shoendorf called to Mrs. Andrew Scheidt, who occupies a part of the house and together they got her on a bed, but life had flown and one of the best mothers and neighbors of the Miriam district had gone to her reward. Funeral services were held from St. Mary Catholic church in Miriam, this morning at nine o’clock, Rev. Fr. Jos. A Maier officiating and burial was in the cemetery there, a large number of people being in attendance. Mrs. Faber was born in Alsace-Loraine and came to this country 36 years ago, coming to the Miriam district, where she has since resided. Her’s was a genial and friendly nature and no person ever came to her door seeking food or shelter but who went away amply provided for. In the old days, before the automobile made travel as fast as it is today, many people made Mrs. Faber’s home their home and a number of these people were in evidence at the funeral on Tuesday, showing that the good deeds which she had done in years gone by, had not been forgotten. Beautiful flowers and other evidence of esteem were sent to Mr. Shoendorf and he knows that he has the sympathy of the entire community in his great loss. Surviving are three children, Joe Shoendorf of Miriam, John Shoendorf of Milwaukee, and a daughter, who still lives in the old home in Alsace-Loraine.
