Face, 78, who passed away Monday evening in Ionia after several years of failing health. Mr. Face was a son of James and Almira Face, pioneers of Orleans, and spent his early life there. When a young man he went to South Dakota and took up land and farmed until 15 years ago. Since then he lived here and in South Ionia. He was unmarried. Surviving are a brother, Arba Face of Belding and two sisters, Mrs. C. Walter Knight of Belding and Miss Elsie Face of long Beach, California. Rev. F. W. Gunther, pastor of the Baptist church officiated and interment was in Orleans cemetery. Out-of-town persons to attend the Luther H. Face funeral services on Wednesday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Levi Greenwood and Claud of St. Johns, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Face of Grand Rapids, Rev. and Mrs. Myron Hoyt of Okemos, Mrs. Elvon C. Lloyd Jr., of Lansing, and from Orleans were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Allen and sons, Eldred and Orville Shultz, Mr. and Mrs. Erme Face, George Hoyt and son Arthur Hoyt, Paul Morton and Mrs. Dan King.
