Fahrni, 50, of 523 North State, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at his home of a heart attack. He was born May 2, 1918 at Clarksville, the son of Christian and Mabel Heator. He was married July 2, 1949 at Grand Rapids to Marlene Litfiy. He came here from Orange township and had lived at his present residence since 1957. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran church and also of its men’s organization, LLL. He was an employee of Oldsmobile at Lansing. Past commander of American Legion post 31 he also belonged to the 40 et 8. In World War II he served in the European theater. Surviving are his wife Marlene, one son Erwin and two daughters, Nanette and JeriLou all at home; one brother, Chris of Clarksville; two sisters, Mrs. Letha Hillsburg of Spring Lake and Mrs. Beulah Blough of Alto. The body will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until noon Friday when it will be taken to St. Johns Lutheran church for services at 2 p.m. Rev. A.R. Gallert will officiate and interment will be at South Boston cemetery.
