Christian J. Fahrni, 73, of Lowell died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1995 at Butterworth
Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born July 6, 1922 in Boston Township, the son
of Christian and Mabel (Heater) Fahrni.  He attended Clarksville High School and
married Jean Bouwenn on June 25, 1949.  He lived and farmed in the area all his
life, except when he served with the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was a
member of the VFW, Farm Bureau, and was a charter member of the Independent Mile
Association.

Surviving are his wife Jean; son Dennis (Teresa) Fahrni, of Clarksville;
daughters: Jane (Antonio) Martinez, of Clarksville and Sheri (David) Talcott, of
Lowell; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Beulah (Lester)
Blough, of Alto and Freda Sebastian, of Vermontville.  He was preceded in death
by one grandson, Tyler Stewart; brothers: Stanley, Wayne and Gerald Fahrni; and
sister Letha Hillsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, 1995 at the
Wesleyan Church in Clarksville, with Rev. Walter W. Winebrenner officiating. 
Interment will be in Boston Cemetery and visitation will be on Friday from 2
p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel in
Clarksville.
