Fahrni Dies from Tetanus Stanley Fahrni, 20 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Fahrni of South Boston, Ionia County, died Sunday afternoon in Blodgett hospital, Grand Rapids, from lockjaw as the result of amputation of fingers on his left hand about two weeks ago when they were caught in a corn husker. He was released from the hospital about a week ago, but was readmitted Sunday morning. His death followed a few hours later. Stanley C. Fahrni, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Fahrni, Jr., was born June 24, 1912 in So. Boston, Ionia county, Mich., and departed this life Dec. 11, 1932. He leaves to mourn his passing, three sisters, Letha, Beulah and Freda, and three brothers, Wayne, Gerald and Junior, many other relatives and a host of friends. After graduating from the eighth grade he was for a time enrolled as a student in the Clarksville high School. For the past few years he has been engaged in helping to operate his father’s farm, where he has been a most faithful worker. He was an attendant of the South Boston Congregational church and Sunday school and a member of the local PTA, also the Grange, having filled several of the various offices of the latter organization at different times. He will long be remembered by both relatives and friends for his cheerful disposition and the sterling qualities of his young manhood. The funeral services were held Tuesday at the home at 1:30 and at the South Boston Congregational church at 2:00, the Rev. Bedell of Clarksville, officiating. Burial was in the South Boston cemetery. The funeral arrangements were by the Yeiter Company. Pallbearers were Stanley’s former school-mates – Joseph Schwab, Donald Kyser, Kenneth Tucker, Wilbur Young, Maynard Tucker and Wilbur Nick. The music was furnished by Charles Nash and his son Orvin Nash, also a schoolmate. The church was filled to capacity by sorrowing friends and the profusion of flowers testified to the esteem in which Stanley was held by all who knew him.
