Faye was born in Grand Rapids on July 7, 1931, the daughter of William and Huldah (Meitz) Litfiy. Her elementary education began at the age of 4 in Clarksville. She spent three years attending North Side high School in Ft. Wayne, Ind., while living with an aunt and uncle and assisting them with their children. While in Indiana she was confirmed through St. Paul's Lutheran, the faith she was faithful to all her life. Faye returned to graduate at the age of 16, with the Saranac High School, class of 1948. She married Gerald Fahrni in 1949. Faye was an employee of Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons for many years; she then attended Montcalm Community College getting a degree in business administration. After graduation she opened and operated an Adult Foster Care in her home which she ran for 17 years, retiring in 1997. While plagued with arthritis and cancer in her later years there was one constant...her faith in her Lord and Savior! Faye is survived by her children, Erwin Fahrni of Ionia; Nanette (David) Wheaton of , Muir; her granddaughter that she raised, Nicole (Darrell) Crawford of McDonougjh, GA., sisters-in-law, Raymonde' Richardson and Doris Richardson of Clarksville, and Doreen Richardson of Jenison; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Ellis Richardson; her husbands, Gerald D. Fahrni (1969), John J. Stephan (1998); daughter, Jeri Lou Fahrni; daughter-in-law Roseanna Fahrni; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Faila Litfiy, Elmer Richardson, Vernon and Pearl Richardson, Francis Richardson, Edwin and Patsy Richardson, and Ellis Lee and Alice Richardson. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Oct. 11, 2012 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 8867 Kent St., Portland, with Pastor Ed Filter presiding. Interment will take place at South Boston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St., Ionia.
