Lyons Herald, 18 Jan 1901

James E. Failing, a former resident of this village, died at the home of his 
daughter in Owosso last Saturday from Brights disease.  He was brought here 
Monday and buried in the Lyons cemetery, brother Masons acting as pall bearers.  
Deceased removed from Lyons some 10 years ago and has since lived in Gratiot 
county and in Iowa.
