Fancett, age 88, of Ionia died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Carson City Hospital. She was born May 2, 1920 on a farm south of Palo, Mich. to Warren J. Klinesmith and Mary E. (Graham) Klinesmith. She married Loyal G. Fancett March 22, 1941 in Lyons, Mich. Mrs. Fancett was a longtime resident of the Fenwick area, and a member of the Shiloh Community Church. She attended County Normal and also Central Michigan University and went on to teach for 6 years in Montcalm and Ionia counties, and in addition, she worked at Riverside Corrections for 10 years. She is survived by one daughter Salle (Bob) Johnson of Fenwick; two sons Gary Loyal (Becky) Fancett of Fenwick and Dennis (Brenda) Fancett of Fenwick; six grandchildren, Nadine O’Green of Sheridan, David Johnson of Fenwick, Rob (Amy) Johnson of Gowen, Marty Fancett of Ionia, George Fancett of Ionia and Todd (Pam) Fancett of Fenwick; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, June Fancett of Sheridan and Marilyn Klinesmith of Ionia and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal Fancett, her parents and one brother Joe Klinesmith. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 5-7 p.m. and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral at the Simpson Family Funeral Home, Sheridan. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 beginning at 2 p.m. at the Simpson Family Funeral home, Sheridan with Pastor Kenneth Harger from the Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment will be in the Sunny Hill Cemetery, Fenwick. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested Memorial considerations to either the Shiloh Community Church Mortgage Fund or the Marge Melcher Child Development Center. Arrangements are by the Simpson Family Funeral Home, who is honored to serve the Fancett family with care and compassion during their time of loss and bereavement.
