The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, November 9, 1932

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Fanning, of Portland, who died at the home of 
her daughter Mrs. Floyd Rice, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at the 
Banfield funeral chapel.  Burial rites in the Portland cemetery will be under 
the Rebekah lodge auspices.  She died of pneumonia which followed a hip 
fracture.  The daughter is the only survivor.
