Born August 25, 1898, in Blanchard, he was a son of Alonzo and Nora Farrell and attended Ionia public schools. He was a plumbing and heating contractor in the Ionia area for a number of years, served with the US Army medical corps in World War II, and was a member of the Ionia Disabled American Veterans-(DAV). Surviving are two sons, Donald Farrell of Swartz Creek and Raymond of Ionia, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Kemp of Muir and Mrs. Bernice Ward of Ionia, 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Other surviving relatives include one brother, Willard of Ionia, and three sisters, Mrs. Irene Elliott of Oregon, Mrs. Esther Gehrett and Mrs. Genevieve Reimsman of Grand Rapids. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday from Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir, the Rev. Roger Wright (retired) officiating. Burial is at Muir Cemetery.
