Lawrence L.Faul Dies in Florida

Lawrence l. Faul, age 88 years of 179 E.Broadway Woodland passed away Sunday at 
Lakeland, Fla. soon after admittance to the hospital.

Mr. Faul was born in the Woodland area Nov. 16, 1877, son of Mr and Mrs Ludwig 
Faul.

He was one of three graduates with the first Class of 1894 at Woodland high 
School.

He attended Northern Indiana University at Valparaiso and returned to associate 
himself with his father int he hardware store. He retired from the state in 1952
after serving the public 56 years as a home town merchant.

He married Jesse A.Briggs of Ionia December 16, 1908.

Mr. Faul served 20 years on the Woodland School Board. Education of the young 
man, his main interest in life. He was very active in all civic affairs and 
served many years in several capacities on the village council.

Mr and Mrs Faul left Woodland Dec. 3rd for Lakeland and had spent just 14 days 
before death came. Mrs.Faul was a patient at the hospital at the time of his 
admittance.

Funeral plans are tentatively set for Monday or Tuesday of next week pending 
Mrs.Faul's arrival from Florida. Mr.Faul will arrive at the Pickens Funeral 
Chapel Thursday morning.
