Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, December 9, 1940

Mrs. Ione Faulkner died Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the home of her granddaughter, 
Mrs. Foster Kenny, 227 Union street, following an illness of three months.  She 
was 87 years old and was born in Ionia township, February 26, 1853, the 
daughter of Alexander and Marcy Elizabeth Anderson.  Early in life she became a 
member of the North Plains church of Disciples and later joined the Ionia 
Church of Christ.  She was always devoted to church activities.  On November 
18, 1875 she was married to Frank Faulkner and lived in Ionia for some time and 
also at Prairie Creek.  Their home at Prairie Creek burned and they moved back 
to Ionia city.  His death occurred in 1904.  For the past 25 years she had made 
her home in Muir.

Surviving are two sons, Herbert W. Faulkner of Ionia, and Archie L. Faulkner, 
of Detroit; two grandchildren, Mrs. Foster Kenny of Ionia and Miss Geraldyne 
Faulkner of Detroit; five great grandchildren and one half-brother, Edward 
Nolty, of Lyons.  A sister, Mrs. Josephine T. Miller, died about two weeks 
ago.  One daughter, Mrs. Henry Foltz, died in 1934.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Stone funeral home on 
East Washington street. Rev. C.A. Brady will officiate and interment will be at 
Highland Park cemetery.
