Greenville Independent, 22 & 29 Jan 1861

Serious Accident. – On Wednesday of last week, an accident occurred in the town
of Ronald, Ionia county, to a man named Fulkeson, which, it is supposed, will
prove fatal.  Three men with teams loaded with lumber and shingles, were in
company. – One of them called to Fulkeson to stop and assist him in fixing his
load.  He stopped his team and while standing on the top of his load, his team,
which was a very spirited one, suddenly started, throwing him off.  He fell upon
his head, injuring his spine so that his medical attendant despairs of his life,
as we learn from our informant.  He has a family near Marshal in this State.

Dead. – The man who was injured by falling from his load, an account of which
was given in our last issue has since died.  His name was Faulkner instead of
Faulkenson, as reported.
