Ionia Sentinel, 21 Jan 1971

Mrs. Winona E. Faunce, 86, of Shore Drive, Harbor Springs, died early Thursday 
morning at Ionia County Memorial hospital.  She was born in Antwerp, Ohio, 
November 20, 1884, the daughter of Irvin and Etta Montroy Myers.  She moved 
with her parents to Sheperd and graduated from high school there.

December 14, 1905, she was married to Alden J. Faunce at Sheperd and they made 
their home there until moving to Harbor Springs in 1916.  The past three 
winters they have lived in Ionia near their daughter, Mrs. Clare Wheaton.

She was a member of Methodist church in Harbor Springs and head of the primary 
department of the church several years.  A member of OES she also belonged to 
the Bay View Reading club.

Surviving are her husband, Alden; one son, Dale of Kalamazoo; two daughters, 
Mrs. Wheaton of Ionia and Mrs. Lester Luce of Coldwater; six grandchildren and 
four great grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Faunce will be at the Leddick funeral home, Ionia, until Friday morning 
when she will be taken to Harbor Springs where funeral services will be 
Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Methodist church.  Rev. Phillip Howe will 
officiate.  Interment will be at Lakeview cemetery at Harbor Springs.
