Faxon, 85, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Hull Memorial chapel in Muir. Rev. Richard Strait of Lyons United Methodist church will officiate and interment will be at Lyons cemetery. Mr. Faxon, who lived at 254 Tabor, Lyons, died late Tuesday at Ionia Manor following an extended illness. Born in Lyons, June 9, 1887, he was the son of George and Mary Curtis Faxon. He was a graduate of Lyons high school and Ferris Institute and was a pharmacist and druggist in Ionia and Grand Rapids. He was married in June of 1918 in Lyons to Grace Billings and they had observed their 54th wedding anniversary. He left the pharmacy in 1932 when he began working his father’s farm until retirement in 1962. He then moved into Lyons to his present home. He was past master and life member of Lyons F&AM, Veteran of World War I when he was a sergeant in the medical corps, a member of World War I barracks of Ionia he also belonged to VFW post of Portland.
